Application Note 145: Eppendorf Plate^® Deepwell 96 and 384: RecoverMax^® - Investigation into the impact of an optimized well design on resuspension properties, sample losses and contamination effects

The investigation described in this Application Note demonstrates that the Plates' unique RecoverMax^® design ensures maximal volume recovery and, thus, increases processing speed. Since the well design is perfectly suited for mixing and resuspension applications, the plates are optimally suited for sample preparation, transport and storage.

Application Note 146: Eppendorf Plate^® Deepwell 96 and 384: g-Safe^® - Investigating stability during centrifugation of Eppendorf Plate^® Deepwell

This Application Note shows that all Eppendorf Plate^® Deepwell formats exhibit high centrifugation stability and thereby offer maximum safety for the user. Their high quality withstands centrifugation forces up to 6,000 x g, making them perfectly suited for demanding applications.

Application Note 153: Reliable detection of pathogenic microorganisms in food samples by multiplex PCR and hybridization using commercial kits and the Mastercycler^® ep gradient S

The Eppendorf Mastercycler^® ep gradient S was used in combination with commercial PCR test kits for the detection of different pathogenic bacteria in chicken samples. The amplification was done by multiplex PCR and was followed by a sandwich hybridization and colorimetric detection. The system delivered sensitive results comparable to the results of conventional microbiological methods; however, the results can be achieved much faster! This work was done together with the company SY-LAB Geräte GmbH in Austria to demonstrate the compatibility of the Mastercycler^® ep with multiplex PCR applications.

Application Note 155: epMotion^® pipettes DMSO with excellent accuracy and precision over a broad volume range

DMSO is a powerful organic solvent and is widely used for compound dissolution in pharmaceutical and research laboratories. Compound testing assays require a high degree of standardization and reproducibility. Automated pipetting can help to meet these requirements. Data generated in a new study clearly demonstrate that the epMotion^® is well suited for pipetting DMSO with excellent precision. A CV below 1 % at 5 µl and below 0.05% at 1000 µl was achieved with standard pipetting tools.

Userguide 17: Chemical stability of Varispenser^® and Top Buret

This User Guide is an update - and replacement - of Application Note 6. The Varispenser^® bottletop dispenser and the Top Buret bottletop buret feature
the ultra-high chemical resistance; therefore a broad range of chemicals are suitable for use with these instruments. A comprehensive chemical list can be found in this User Guide. In addition, an example of an application in food analysis is presented for the Varispenser^®: its high chemical inertness is proven by a trace analysis done by the company Hipp in Germany, a manufacturer of organic baby food.
